JALOUX (Edmond), French writer and literary critic (1878–1949). Signed autograph manuscript titled “Elémir Bourges et la Nef.” 12 pp., folio. A very fine analysis of the work “La Nef” by the French writer Elémir Bourges. It presents the writer’s body of work as a whole and then delves deeper into his study of this particular work: “La Revue Hebdomadaire has the exceptional privilege of offering its readers one of the greatest and most beautiful works of our literature: *La Nef*, by Elémir Bourges. Or rather, the second part of this book, for the first part was published in 1904, and since then, its author has worked tirelessly on this one, which completes and concludes his philosophical epic. But before discussing it at greater length, we would like to say a few words about its author, whose diligent reserve has kept him apart from the literary world and who, while he truly possesses glory in the proud and absolute sense of the word, has not yet achieved the full recognition that his friends would have wished for him...”.
