JANSEN (Lambert) active painter of the 19th and 20th centuri - Lot 4
JANSEN (Lambert) active painter of the 19th and 20th centuries, probably of Dutch origin, whose works are known for their depictions of landscapes (1891-1965) Important autograph manuscript in Indian ink enriched with 19 pencil drawings, illustrating his trip to Spain in 1936. The title page, entitled Un Séjour en Espagne en 1936, journal de voyage de Lambert Jansen , precedes 807 pages written in elegant, diligent handwriting, with a few minor corrections, bound in 2 volumes numbered I and II. Worn, hand-crafted bindings. Charming account full of anecdotes and curiosities, from the Gare d'Austerlitz station to Spain, where, in the course of his peregrinations in Raymond's company, he recorded testimonials, mainly in the Valencia region and along the Mediterranean coast. Numerous drawings depict landscapes such as Finestrat, the church of San Vicente, Elche with its picturesque sites, Murcia, Torrevieja and Benidorm. He also captured on paper the faces of young children and a typical interior.
