BERTHELIN (Max) French architect, painter and watercolorist, student of Henri Labrouste for architecture (1811-1877). Under the direction of Victor Baltard, he drew the illustrations for the album offered by the City of Paris to Queen Victoria on the occasion of her visit to France in 1855. He was also responsible for a cross-section of the Palais de l'Industrie for the 1855 Universal Exhibition. Many of his works are in the Louvre and Orsay museums. Set of 3 watercolors executed by the architect, probably around the middle of the XIXth century, representing the castle of Soisy sous Montmorency, under different aspects, castle today disappeared.1Original watercolor signed in the lower right corner, mounted on cardboard, representing the castle of Soisy sous Montmorency, with the caption Le Château de Soisy en 1820 , (20 x 13 cm).2° Original watercolor signed in the lower left corner, mounted on cardboard, representing the castle of Soisy sous Montmorency, with the caption Le Château de Soisy en 1820 , (34 x 17 cm).3° Original watercolor monogrammed M.B., bottom right, mounted on cardboard representing the castle of Soisy sous Montmorency under a different aspect but always of a great quality of execution, with the caption Soisy, view from the side of the Park, 1820 (34 x 22 cm). On the back, there is a photograph representing the plan of the old castle of Soisy around 1770, bearing this indication, photographed on the big map of the hunts in the archives of the Castle of Chantilly.
