PHIDIAS (490 B.C.-430 B.C.) (after) HEAD of Iris known as "Laborde" (Fragment of one of the friezes of the Pathenon kept in the Louvre), plaster cast. Carries a cartouche dated 1647 H. 56 cm (Traces of painting).condition of the work: incomplete: the nose, the mouth, the chin and the back of the skull are missing, formerly completed in plaster by Sénart. The head comes from the western pediment of the Parthenon; it has been compared to the torso of Iris in the British Museum. The name "Tête Laborde" comes from the name of its former owner.
