BRANCUSI Constantin (1876-1957). Lizica CODREANU... - Lot 140 - Goxe - Belaisch - Hôtel des ventes d'Enghien
BRANCUSI Constantin (1876-1957). Lizica CODREANU dancing on Éric SATIE's Gymnopédies, in Brancusi's studio, 8 impasse Ronsin Paris XVe, 1921-1922. Negative gelatine-silver on glass plate 12 x 9 cm. Seal: a silver contact, on Ilford paper, circa 1990. The costumes and the scenography of this show were created by Constantin Brancusi. Provenance: former collection of Irina CODREANU sculptor, workshop of 10 impasse du Mont-Tonnerre Paris XVth. Literature BRANCUSI, Beyond all borders, Doïna Lemny. Fage, 2019. On pages 81 and 82, it is suggested that there is a link between the sculpture La Sorcière (1916-1924) and the headdress with the two cones of Lizica's costume. BRANCUSI, La sublimation de la forme, under the direction of Doïna Lemny, Europalia, Snoeck, 2019. Reproduction of a gelatine-silver print from the collection of the New National Museum of Monaco.
